The Apples and Pears Market is back!

The girls from Curiosity Haus are back with a new market just in time for Valentine’s Day!

12pm-5pm

Apples and Pears and Crafty Wares is the Arts Market established in May 2009, by curiosity.haus. Aimed at promoting local artists and designers, from graduates to established artisans, as a platform for independent creatives to showcase and sell their wares.

The newly refurbished Hopkinson Gallery will host the first ‘Apples and Pears..’ arts market of 2010, with over 25 stalls! Come and check out the eclectic mix of arts, crafts and fashion items on offer. From textiles to jewellery, canvases to vintage clothing, illustration to t-shirts, bringing together some of the finest designer makers, artists and crafters Nottingham has to offer. The perfect place to get your valentines cards and gifts from independent makers.

There will also be entertainment with live music on the day.

Give it a Whirl: Upstairs will be a series of free workshops brought to you by The Art Organisation residents including Yoga, Salsa and Samba Drumming to name but a few…

There will be tea, coffee, cakes and snacks available at the all new Hopkinson Tea Bar at the front of the gallery.

This Sunday – Apples and Pears Market at the Chameleon

Exciting stuff for the run-up to Christmas, we had a lovely message from the girls at Curisoity Haus this morning…

We are holding another small indoor event at The Chameleon, this Sunday from 1-6pm.
Come along to get some gifts for Christmas, or treat yourself to Arts, crafts, gifts, vintage, illustration, jewellery and textiles alongside The Sunday Sessions live music event.

Also, The Chameleon will be serving Sunday dinners from £3.95 – yum!

Air Time 09 Networking Event Report

Today I represtnted the Nottingham Craft Mafia at the Air Time 09 Networking event at Nottingham Trent University.

Organisations and galleries that were there included Steve Perry from Hencilla Canworth Insurance Brokers, AIR, a-n, Arts Council England,  Beacon, Hinterland Projects, DACS (Design and Artists Copyright Society) ,East Midlands Visual Art Forum, MOOT, NAN (Networking Artists Networks), New Art Exchange, Nottingham Contemporary, Surface Gallery & The Art Organisation.

I promoted our Nottingham Craft Mafia and The Craft Mafia Organisation to lots of people, explaining what we do and why and how we go about it.  I also advised many people how I got into the Nottingham Craft Mafia and how it has significantly helped me. Many people were just starting out or wanting to progress with their business and make it their full time job. Untitled-1

This event is happening on Wednesday 25th November in Lincoln and is run by last years Fine Art graduates from Lincoln.

I was in the Design Circus, Pop Up Shop in West Bridgford yesterday and just couldn’tresist this horse clutch bag! Its so beautifully finished, has a quirky horse on the front and fir on the back! It was handmade by Sarah Culleton, a maker from Derby, she has many more in the shop all individual and so beautiful.

You have got to visit the shop, its is a little treasure trove full of lots of goodies and Christmas presents. Some of the Nottingham Craft Mafia members are also selling there, its definitely worth a visit!
