Gillian Lee Smith Creative Workshops

Hand-bound book

Mixed Media artist and Nottingham Craft Mafia member Gillian Lee Smith is teaching a selection of workshops at the Debbie Bryan Shop & Studio.  The next up-coming workshop is Lace Market Legacy – a journal making workshop to be held on Saturday 12th September. Inspired by the history and atmosphere of the beautiful Nottingham Lace Market this will be a fun relaxing day where the only goal is to immerse yourself in an indulgent day of creating! The result will be a unique and personal hand bound book.

You can also meet Gillian and see her at work at a Sunday Tea Party at the Debbie Bryan Shop & Studio in a ‘Meet the artist’ day to celebrate her collaboration with Debbie and to chat to the artist as well as partake in some tea and cake!! 11am till 5 pm with tea and cake served 2 till 3pm.

Hannah is also offering Private Home Tutition for those who want to ‘make friends with their sewing machine’! At £35 / £30, Hannah will give you a whistlestop tour of your unused machine and in an hour and a half you’ll be raring to go!

Leather Flower Corsages

Make a vintage inspired corsage out of leather and suede.
Materials cost £5.00. Evening class: £25/£23 concessions.

Bodice and Sleeve Pattern Drafting*

Draft your own bodice and sleeve block and learn how to alter them to create your own designs.
Materials cost £8.00. Two day workshop: £85/£80 concessions.

Vintage Slippers*

Come and make your own pair of beautiful slippers perfect as the long nights draw in.

Pattern Draft your own skirt to fit*

Make a skirt block and alter it to fit then create a pattern for you own skirt design.

Clip frame purses

Make your own clip frame purses from vintage fabrics and decorate them with applique and stitch.

Make a selection of flower corsages using vintage techniques and inspiration.

Knitting Academy: Beginners Workshop 25th July

Here at the NCM, we always love hearing about local happenings – especially those set up by individuals looking to spread the crafty message and share their skills and experience! The Knitting Academy are a knitwear design duo with a combined 35 years in the industry. With their classes and workshops, they aim to teach everyone how to hand-knit!

So gather up your ideas, your enthusiasm, and go along to the next Beginners workshop. All “ingredients” are provided, and there is a Goodie Bag for every new Beginner, individually designed and brimming with crafty items for you to take away!
